Finding Parts For Your Coffee Pot

This may be one of the biggest pains in the butt when it comes to coffee makers. Every coffee maker comes out with a new model about every 12-18 months, and that wonderful appliance you purchased last year is no longer on the shelf at the store, and finding parts, such as carafes, water filters, coffee filter baskets, etc. are near impossible to find at your local store.

Here’s the deal. Today I was needing a water filter for my Kitchen Aid. Just a simple little filter. I went to Target, Home Depot, Kohls, Walmart – NOTHING! They only carry filters for the latest appliances that are on the market.

Let me save you some trouble and gas money from driving all over town for something that does not exist. There are only three ways to find parts for your coffee maker that is more than 1 year old:

  1. Get out your manufacturer’s book and order straight from the manufacturer of your coffee pot. This is probably the most expensive way of doing it, in both parts and shipping costs. I would do this as a last resort.
  2. Go on ebay. Sometimes there is someone selling some filters they no longer need or they found a bunch of parts on a clearance shelf at Target and they snatched them all up and are reselling them on ebay. I do this quite often and recommend it. I will try and  post some ebay listings below to look through.
  3. Go on Amazon. This is probably the easiest way. Just type in your Make and Model of your coffee pot and let them know what you’re wanting (i.e. Kitchen Aid Coffee Pot Water Filters). Amazon has excellent customer service, they’re fast, they’re usually the cheapest.

Of course this is not unique to just coffee makers, but it is a pain in the butt that you cannot get what you need as easily these days.

Kinds of Coffee Makers

If you are going to be buying a new coffee pot, then it might be useful to review a few suggestions before you do so. By doing this, when you’re checking the cost tag along with the particulars on the side of the package while you’re at the shop, you will know more details on what you’re searching for, plus what you should keep away from.

Coffee isn’t just a tasty and savory drink but also a health refreshment according to researchers from Harvard University. Their own numerous studies have shown uncovered that coffee offers healing values and it can avoid, if not lessen the dangers involving particular medical conditions such as cancer, Parkinson’s disease, Type 2 diabetes as well as cardiovascular problems. Regardless of whether persons are affected by these sort of studies, the typical global coffee usage is increasing each year.

The escalating popularity of coffee has had an impact on the coffeemaker industry. Numerous types and models of coffee machines are now being produced by countless companies throughout the world. Coffee is consumed in a number of varieties and it is important to style and design machines to produce all those various beverages. Aside from classic kinds of coffee, today’s variations like espresso are usually widely consumed, making a dual coffee espresso maker very popular. It is the reason behind the development of different types of both typical and contemporary coffee machines. Devices served to reduce time and our hard work involved in the procedure.

Percolators was the earlier gadgets useful for producing the beverage. It was an easy process by which water will be boiled separately and able to percolate through coffee grounds. Subsequently came the drip coffeemaker that labored with electric power. Coffee grounds placed in the funnel layered with filter paper and boiled water can drip in the grounding machines. The made coffee will drop into your carafe held to collect the same. It is an automated method.

Developing technology assisted to formulate more superior equipment for making different types of coffee. Coffee bean to cup type equipment are now popular in the united kingdom as well as throughout European countries. Coffee beans are ground in smaller portions adequate enough to get a mug or 2 of the beverage, in the bowl in the system. Many individuals like this because they know your coffee is going to be ready out of freshly ground coffee. Heated up water will be pumped from the ground coffee beans to brew a new cup of coffee.

A different design of coffee machines is managed manually. You have a lever to push hot water through ground coffee beans. This specific coffee press really helps to manage the potency of the coffee. Absolutely no electric power is needed… simply water.

On the other side of this is a more sophisticated appliance – the Pod coffeemaker. They’re getting to be extremely popular. You insert a pod, or capsule, made up of coffee grounds in to the top of the appliance. These produce individual mugs of coffee, and are perfect for those who desire a variety of types of coffee, however only 1 cup. It’s easy and also well-liked by students too.

Where To Buy Good Coffee Pots?

I get the occasional emails from folks who do not want to shop at Amazon and order a coffee pot over the internet. That’s fine. Although Amazon has probably the best customer service and return policy around, there are certain things that a person wants to buy at their local store.

You can find regular coffee pots, dual coffee makers, single cup coffee makers, and different espresso machines at many different departments stores, however, the best place I have found to buy the largest variety of coffee pots of all kinds is Kohls (see the photo I took).

They usually have very good pricing, and, if you go to their website, www.Kohls.com, you should sign up for the email newsletter.  This will get you a 10-15% off coupon, and sometimes 20%. You get these coupons emailed to you about twice a month.

There aren’t too many brands of coffee makers they do not carry. You can buy a $15 to a $400 coffee maker, just depending on how many features you want. The last coffee maker I bought was from Kohls. It was a red Kitchen Aid.

The other thing you can find there are different accessories. You can find water filters and the single cup coffee pods, pod holders, and anything else you may need.

So, that is my suggestion. Sears, Macy’s, Target, or wherever may have some too, but not the variety in brands and styles of coffee and espresso machines that Kohls has.

I hope that helps!

Happy Shopping!

Dual Carafe Coffee Maker

Have you ever needed more than one type of coffee brewing at one time? Or, have you ever had a large enough party that required more than a one carafe coffee maker?

While not a necessity for 95% of the population, there is a growing number of consumers who are purchasing a Dual Carafe Coffee Maker for their home. The primary reason is typically because they have a party with 8 – 15 adults, and there are two different preferences for coffee. One half wants regular brew, the other half wants decaf. Or, if you entertain with more than 15 adults, it is always nice to have 2 pots of fresh coffee available.

Simply put, a dual carafe coffee maker is like having two independent coffee makers in one machine. You load each one up with the filter, coffee bean grounds, and water. Each pot will independently brew it’s own pot. So, you can have one pot of decaf going, and then another pot of your regular coffee. I’m not much of a decaf person. So, in our home it would be one pot of a bold coffee, and then another pot of a milder bean.

Dual Coffee Makers

As you can see from the pictures above, there are lots of different styles of dual coffee makers. That Kitchenaid looks pretty nice, don’t you think?

It used to be that when you thought of a dual coffee makers you thought of that old Bunn model sitting in the break room at work. As you can see, things have changed quite a bit. I own the Krups model, but my kitchen is red and I’d like to get a Kitchenaid that had a regular carafe on one side, and an espresso maker on the other.

The two most popular dual coffee makers on the market right now are the Krups dual coffee maker and the Kitchen Selectives dual coffee maker. The Krups is the model you see below. It is available at Amazon, and usually at a very good price. Amazon can usually beat any other company’s price by at least $25 – $50. I believe the Krups probably outsells every other brand by about a 10 to 1 ratio.

Dual Coffee Maker

Most people think of a Dual Coffee Espresso Maker at their office, but have you ever considered owning a dual brew coffee maker in your home?

Owning a Dual Coffee Maker is not really much more expensive than owning a single pot machine. One of the biggest advantages that many people say are that it lets you make regular and decaf at the same time! That’s a pretty cool thing…. being ideal for couples with different tastes or for entertaining. Most machines will have a standard two 12-cup carafes to independently brew one or two pots at a time.

Most people think of the big Bunn Dual Coffee Makers that they see at their office. Those are usually much more expensive ($500 on up). But, having a Dual Coffee Maker that is much less expensive, such as the Krups or the Kitchen Selectives, is ideal for a small business, office, or for the home with multiple cafe drinkers. Personally, I mostly just brew on the one side, but when we have small group gatherings at our home, being able to brew for 24 cups of coffee is hard to beat. Like it was just mentioned, I usually do one regular (like a Kenyan coffee) and a pot of decaf. It’s very nice.
